Flipeadóirí Longfoirt put in a spirited performance versus Cill Eó in Pearse Park on Saturday afternoon in glorious conditions to come away with a win and earn a place in the county final on 13 October. The team started brightly and were first to find the net through a Ryan McGoey gem, and continued chipping over scores confidently against an experienced opposition. Cill Eó came back before HT and also found the net going in at the short whistle a few points up.
On the resumption Slashers ran in a few subs and the game was nip and tuck all the way to the finish with Diarmuid Sheahan picking off important scores, 8 points 5 frees, to eventually run out winners by the smallest margin.
The team now look forward to another day in Pearse Park on October 13th for the Junior A final. Ar aghaidh libh!
