Well done to our Seniors this evening in kicking off the Championship with a very positive performance, finishing up with a draw against Clonguish. 

With both sides not giving an inch defensively, scores were hard to come by. When Ronan Sheahan slotted a goal in the second half, Slashers had a 6 point lead. However a quick response from Clonguish reduced the lead to one with 15 minutes remaining. 

From that point on, the game was a very cagey affair with Slashers either leading by one, or a level game. As the game entered injury time, Slashers took a one point lead after a fine Andy Dalton point. However Clonguish manufactured one last chance to bring the game level again. Shortly afterwards the final whistle blew and both sides head into the second round with 1 point in the bag.
