Our seniors kicked off the bank holiday weekend with a very positive win away at Abbeylara on Friday evening. The first half performance was particularly positive, with Slashers going in at half time 0-2 to 1-6. The last 15 minutes of the game saw Abbeylara push hard and it needed a strong defensive display to close out for the win. Final score in Oliver Lynch Park, Abbeylara 0-8 Longford Slashers 1-8.
The seniors now have two weekends off, with their next game in the diary on Wednesday 22nd May at 7.30pm against Carrickedmond in Michael Fay Park. No rest for the Div 3 team who are at home against Clonguish this Sunday 12th May at 12.00 and as ever, we hope to see a big home support.
Training continues on Tuesday and Friday evenings, with Junior players and new or returning players always welcome.
