Flipeadóirí Longfoirt is sad to announce the passing of club stalwart Seán Donnelly, who proudly wore the sky-blue colours of Slashers for many years and contributed to our club in management and administration in later years. Seán was player and trainer / coach of Longford Slashers in 1975 as county champions, a particularly sweet triumph as the club celebrated its 21st anniversary that year.

Having won Sigerson Cup with UCG, Seán went on to win Leinster with Longford and captain the Longford team to a National Football League Division 2 title (1972) and in 2000 was selected at number fifteen on the Longford Team of the Millennium.

Flipeadóirí Longfoirt extend sincere sympathy to his wife Ann, daughters Orfhlaith, Aideen, Dervilla and Patricia, grandchildren Anna Lily, Conor and Ella, sons-in-law Ciarán O’Neill and Declan Fox, sister Phyllis Meally, relatives and friends.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
